Attempting Red Lips

at
ootd-attempting-red-lips

I’m going to come clean – I hate wearing make up. There’s just something in me that spoils it- I’d usually end up with raccoon eyes or a clown mouth due to randomly scratching / touching parts of my face. In a nutshell, I end up looking like a kid trying on her mom’s stash, so I make it a point to only wear makeup during events.

In the hopes of doing different things this year, I decided to start by attempting to wear red lipstick. I received  a tube of Just Miss Lipstick from a friend last Christmas, hence I had no excuse to flake.

Sunday night, I was really obsessing about not overdoing it so I was searching online for #OOTD inspirations. Good thing, I was out on leave the next day so I had time to experiment with my outfit.

This is me attempting to do a blogger pose. Lol.

I ended up wearing super basic clothes: white polo, black tank top, mommy jeans, and beige sandals. I was meeting a former colleague who I haven’t seen for years, so I am also conscious to not overdo everything. You know, do not let the years change you. *wink*

When I saw her, she immediately said “Blooming ka!”. Thank God, that put me at ease! I told her it was just the lipstick, and then we went to girl talk. Or rather, mommy talk.

The “waiting for a ride” pose.

I also passed by the office, so colleagues also complemented my “powerful lips“. I was very happy with the result! Not to the extent that I’d do it everyday though…maybe just on Mondays? It made me feel good, and even more confident about myself. I guess it is safe to say that I’m joining #MakeupMondays now?

So here’s a close up version of me 🙂

I’m too shy to ask other people to take my photos, so I ended up doing selfies in our rooftop. Good thing no one’s there!

I am yet to improve on the photo quality, but at least I am able to get *fairly* decent ones! Also, the sun was setting so I’m running out of light!

This was an accidental shot but I’m posting it anyway 🙂

I’m was trying to figure out how close I should be in the frame when the timer ended. Yup, 3 seconds is too short, Nina.

And this is my favorite shot. Just carefree…

My takeaway: Don’t be afraid of doing something that you’ve never done before.

So, this is my first attempt to do an outfit post, take #ootd photos, do blogger poses, and wear red lipstick. Got any tips for me? I could totally use some. 🙂

Enjoy life. Cheers!

I super envy you that you post stuff like this. I’ve been so insecure about doing fashion / beauty posts 🙂 It fits you <3

I don’t do so much fashion in real life. I’m just a simple person. I was surprised that it looked different when on cam, so I try to post once in awhile. It sounds vain, but it motivates me when I see that I look better than how I view myself 🙂

i wish i could give you tips but i am not too fond of wearing make up either nor i do OOTD posts! 😛

but, i guess you just have to enjoy whatever it is you are doing, and yes, do not be afraid to try something new + different. you look great with red lippies, by the way!

I wasn’t fond if it too before, until I realized that it helped me be more creative. I’m very *kuripot* as a person, so I really maximize what I have in my current closet. And thanks for the compliment! It means a lot to me <3

I feel the same way too. I’m used to just hiding in the shadows, but wearing this helps me feel more confident. It’s like a mask. Haha!

You look so pretty!! I like wearing makeup (just the basics — brow liner, foundation, lippie) but I still feel self-conscious wearing red lipstick. It looks becoming on you!

Thanks, Maan! The most I can do is eyeliner. I’ll explore trying the rest next time 🙂

Wearing make up once in a while won’t hurt especially if you are wearing a shade that complements your complexion. Love the red lipstick, on point!

Thanks, Lyka! I try to keep a low key for the most part. But I guess there really are days when you need a source of power that is external, this time in the form of wearing red lipstick! 😛
