BuriBox: Fun learning for kids
Most of us are probably familiar about subscription boxes, but did you know that there is a subscription box for children? BuriBox is a subscription box specifically designed for Filipino learners.
It is a collection of books, activities, and art materials, powered by Adarna Publishing House. It is designed to develop literacy, critical thinking, socio-emotional make-up and gross and fine motor skills of our children.
I first learned about BuriBox by reading it on Marie’s blog. I got so interested, so I signed-up to try it out.
What are the contents of the BuriBox?
I was very excited to find out what the box contains. My son was very excited too when he saw the smiling box. He raced me to opening it, but when I told him I had to take pictures first, he calmly watched me. It’s a miracle to see a toddler sit still!
Here are the contents of my 1st order:
Different activity sheets
Clay and coloring materials
The BuriBox is specifically designed for the Filipino child, so most of the materials are bilingual and references the Filipino culture.
Each box also comes with a Letter to the Parent. This guide includes information about the BuriBox and about each specific activities. It also helps the parents make the most out of the activities since it explains what each activity targets.
How to order?
You can order the BuriBox here. Currently, you can only pay via PayPal, but they’re working on expanding their payment options so make sure you subscribe to their site for updates.
Orders will be recurring per month, but you can unsubscribe anytime. Price for the BuriBox is Php 799, free delivery within Metro Manila. It can be ordered depending on the age bracket. The one for toddlers are ideally for 3-5 years old, while the one for young readers are for 6-8 years old.
My experience with the BuriBox
The son is only turning 2 this August, but I ordered the toddler one since he is already fond of books. Since he can’t appreciate some of the other materials yet, I kept it for now. But he really loves the board books. It is also helpful for me since it is bilingual, so we can practice both languages.
We read the books every day since we got this, and he can already anticipate the next words in the books!
3 things I love about it:
-It gives an opportunity for parents to have an active part in their children’s learning
-It changes every month, so there’s always something to learn and look forward to
-It targets the Filipino culture
Given the contents and that it’s free shipping, I believe the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this to parents as it is a great activity to do with your kids. I unsubscribed for now since the son is still under-aged, but I’ll surely subscribe again once he shows signs of readiness.
