Most of us are probably familiar about subscription boxes, but did you know that there is a subscription box for children? BuriBox is a subscription box specifically designed for Filipino learners.

It is a collection of books, activities, and art materials, powered by Adarna Publishing House. It is designed to develop literacy, critical thinking, socio-emotional make-up and gross and fine motor skills of our children.

I first learned about BuriBox by reading it on Marie’s blog. I got so interested, so I signed-up to try it out.

What are the contents of the BuriBox?

BuriBox (9)

I was very excited to find out what the box contains. My son was very excited too when he saw the smiling box. He raced me to opening it, but when I told him I had to take pictures first, he calmly watched me. It’s a miracle to see a toddler sit still!

Here are the contents of my 1st order:

Different activity sheetsBuriBox (6)

Clay and coloring materials

BuriBox (8)

Books

The BuriBox is specifically designed for the Filipino child, so most of the materials are bilingual and references the Filipino culture.

Each box also comes with a Letter to the Parent. This guide includes information about the BuriBox and about each specific activities. It also helps the parents make the most out of the activities since it explains what each activity targets.

How to order?

You can order the BuriBox here. Currently, you can only pay via PayPal, but they’re working on expanding their payment options so make sure you subscribe to their site for updates.

Orders will be recurring per month, but you can unsubscribe anytime. Price for the BuriBox is Php 799, free delivery within Metro Manila. It can be ordered depending on the age bracket. The one for toddlers are ideally for 3-5 years old, while the one for young readers are for 6-8 years old.

My experience with the BuriBox

The son is only turning 2 this August, but I ordered the toddler one since he is already fond of books. Since he can’t appreciate some of the other materials yet, I kept it for now. But he really loves the board books. It is also helpful for me since it is bilingual, so we can practice both languages.

The son making pa-cute so I will open the BuriBox.

We read the books every day since we got this, and he can already anticipate the next words in the books!

3 things I love about it:

-It gives an opportunity for parents to have an active part in their children’s learning

-It changes every month, so there’s always something to learn and look forward to

-It targets the Filipino culture

Given the contents and that it’s free shipping, I believe the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this to parents as it is a great activity to do with your kids. I unsubscribed for now since the son is still under-aged, but I’ll surely subscribe again once he shows signs of readiness.

I love the idea behind a subscription box that is both fun and educational for the kids. Also, they really should hire you as they’re marketing blogger!

Lol Raffa. I wish :)) Though seriously, the subscription box for kids is a really cool idea. I hope Filipinos would be more aware that there is a product like this 🙂

What a fantastic box and such a brilliant idea for kids! I love the box so much, it’s super cute and all the activities look so fun. I love that it’s bilingual too, very beneficial for toddlers! I wish we had boxes like this in the UK that catered for older children, I’ve seen baby boxes with clothing but nothing as educational as this one. We are a bilingual family and it’s a struggle to find anything that could help us in teaching our daughter both English and Hungarian. Your son is beautiful by the way.

Thanks Georgia! I never knew we had this in here until I read about it in a blog. The culture-focused part really helps. 🙂

I’ve been reading amazing things about Buribox and I’d love to try them myself particularly for my preschooler but I believe they only accept Paypal at the moment. Hope they can start offering other payment options too.

Yes, the current option is just Paypal. But it’s actually fairly easy to create an account as long as you have a credit card 🙂

This is great! I had no idea there was something like this in the Philippines. I just knew about the makeup box subscriptions. I hope more moms out there give this a try! ?

This is so good, because it’s a package full of stuff the children has to DO. It’s not like a movie. Or playing a video game. Creativity in general is cool for children. Lovely with those books.

I would love to have something like this for my kids. The best part is that they can look forward to getting a box in the mail that is geared just for them! I love that idea of having new learning items for us to work on through the month!

This is very nice. I saw this before in a blog I visited and really liked the idea. I am all for education and as much as I am imparting life lessons, kids still need foundation to build on and this Buribox is one of those that facilitates learning.

    • Nina Sogue

I agree, Robert. I also love that this focuses on the Filipino culture. It’s easier to teach values because it’s already grounded 🙂

Oo nga eh. I only know about make ups, until I learned about BuriBox. It’s a super good alternative to buying them individually. 🙂

This is great for any child. First the excitement of receiving a package in the mail, then to have it filled with lots of great and colorful books to read, plus clay and crayons! It is a great idea and I need to find out if there is something similar here that I could also get for my son when the time is right. I also believe in teaching kids to read and enjoy books early on in life.

That’s true! I also prefer books over gadgets. I hope I get to share the love of books to my son 🙂
