Black is for new beginnings

at
black-is-for-new-beginnings

I’ve been missing-in-action from my blog lately because of so many things in life. I had so many things to share, but I just don’t know where to start. So, since I was wearing my favorite dress yesterday, I thought of creating an outfit post.

Black OOTD (2)

It was Monday, and I was wearing black. I can already hear my mother telling me “DO NOT WEAR BLACK ON MONDAYS!” Something about superstition, but I used to believe in it before too.

Black OOTD (3)

Mondays are a special day because it sets the tone for the week. Start of good, and you’ll probably enjoy the week. Start of bad, and…you know where this goes.

Black OOTD (4)

So, why go against this superstition? If I must quote the bible, “in the beginning there was darkness.” So, I wore black to signify a new beginning…the beginning of hope

Honestly, I wasn’t feeling inspired lately. I have been thinking about so many things that it kept my mind cluttered. But then, I realized that there are also a lot of things that I’ll be taking for granted if I decide to continue with sulking.

So with this feeling of hope, I thought of turning my mood over, and committed to 4 things:

1. To enjoy life and everything it brings me.

Black OOTD (5)

2. To spread positive vibes, especially to those who need it.

Black OOTD (6)

3. To kiss my worries good bye, but of course, within reason.

Black OOTD (7)

4. And to love myself more…because I am God’s masterpiece and I am perfect in His eyes.

Black OOTD (8)

So, as much as I hate to admit it, I guess the way I look really affects my mood.

I’m expecting good vibes for the rest of the week for me. How about you?

Is there something that made you happy this week? Or is there something that you are looking forward to? Let me know in the comments! 😉

Enjoy life. Cheers!

~Nina

P.S. If you liked this outfit too, share some love in the comments too.

You look so nice in that dress! 🙂 As we’re Chinese, black is associated with death so we do our best to avoid it during haply occasions.

My friends used to say that I need to wear some color as black clothes became my default ‘uniform’. But I like how low maintenance it feels, like I can just throw in on and I’m good to go haha.
